CDC: The New York outbreak has nothing to do with China
The centers for disease control and prevention published a report on the 17th, the United States centers for disease control and prevention reported that as early as February 2 trump lifted the ban on Chinese tourists, but it was not until March 13, announced the entry restrictions of European countries, but by the end of March 8, the new coronavirus has started to spread in the community in New York City. In addition, the report revealed a finding that the strain circulating in New York City was unrelated to Wuhan, China. In response to the report, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo said that because of the government's response to the epidemic, the virus had spread to New York City, killing many Americans.
The March 2, 2020 sequence (the earliest outpost sample collected) was clustered with earlier sequences from Europe and the United States (Group B), as well as sequences from China. No sentinel sequences were directly associated with the wuhan outbreak in China. This was unexpected, as most postcode ED ED is used by patients who live in higher zip codes and speak Chinese. In contrast, sequence analysis suggests that SARS-COV-2 may have been introduced from elsewhere in Europe, the United States, and locally from within New York. On 2 February, domestic airport checks and a ban on foreign citizens travelling from China were implemented; *** However, similar travel restrictions in Europe's Schengen area only came into effect on March 13. While travel restrictions are an important mitigation strategy, import and community transmission of SARS-COV-2 had already occurred in New York City by the time the European restrictions were implemented. |
