第一次认识卫兰是在我兄弟”麦香红茶 “的博客里。
她的一首CHOCOLATE ICE，带点爵士，带点甜美，带点清新，带点个性，立刻就把我的心紧紧的俘虏住了。
那时候开始，我就知道她是我心中的女歌手，无人可取代！

2005年香港乐坛年度最佳新人卫兰是中韩菲混血儿，在2005年出道，获东亚唱片公司力捧。她原本为黎明做和音，继而被雷颂德发掘，成为歌手，因此有“黎明师妹”之称。卫兰的入行经历非常特别，她之前曾为黎明做和声。一次偶然的机会，在与雷颂德合作音乐时被发掘，之后被引荐至唱片公司。雷颂德非常欣赏她的音乐才华，这很快触发了他的创作灵感，于是和黎明一起挑选了几首之前合作过的歌曲，配上全新的编曲及卫兰独特的嗓音，以完全不同以往的方式带来全新感觉。其实卫兰能够成为歌手是非常幸运的，只有在目前唱片公司能够接纳不同类型歌手的前提下，才能令她由和声晋升为正式的歌手。

声腺不错（不过现在这个年头，这个嗓子的人不在少数）
唱功也不错（不过感觉这几首歌本身没有很好的突出她的优势，也不及雷颂德和林夕自己的其他作品）
