龙猫的种类

冬日阳光

龙猫仔属于啮齿类动物(rodent)，与鼠或兔等同类。在生物学中，牠们是自成一格的chinchilladale品种。　　Chinchilladale又分为以下的几种：    1、短尾龙猫（Chinchillachinchillaboliviana）成年体长32cm左右，尾长10cm左右，体形较大，毛长而密集，毛色略带黄或咖啡，欠缺光泽，繁殖力低，怀孕期为128日，情绪十分稳定。野生的差不多已绝种。
　　2、皇帝龙猫（KingChinchilla）一种有40cm长的巨型chinchilla，又叫realchinchilla，数百年前已绝种。仅存的一只标本现放在德国的Senckenberg博物馆。
　　3、长尾龙猫（ChinchillaLanigera）可说是brevicoudata和costina的混合体，体形适中，面圆耳短。毛短且密、色泽带蓝。怀孕期111日。用作皮草及宠物；人工繁殖出来的龙猫仔绝大部份都属于此类，野生的亦几乎绝迹了。
　　4、costina 体长24~28cm，尾长14cm左右。体形较小，鼻较尖、耳朵较长。毛质细，色泽带蓝。繁殖力较强，怀孕期为111日，情绪比较紧张，野生也已经绝种。    目前我们所能看到的龙猫都是brevicoudata、costina、lanigera三个品种混配出来的，很难再找到一只纯种的brevicoudata、costina或lanigera，因此所有龙猫从实际上来说已经不存在纯种和杂种的区别。    所有原产于南美洲的野生chinchilla都属于受保护类动物。
