We have received your email and given the serious nature of your complaint we have taken the necessary time to answer to you appropriately.

Eurosport's coverage of the Olympic Games has an international and a strong emphasis on action rather than conversation. We show all performances whatever the athlete' s nationality and we always give priority to the action. The medal ceremony on each sport is mostly when the competition has been finished for several minutes and when the action has started in another sport. That's why we don't have time to wait for it.

The three shooting medals were shown in a split screen for around 40" with a very short delay with no time for a medal ceremony. It was the same for the women's judo under 52 kg.

For Diving Women synchronised 3m Springboard, shown live, we went straight after the end of the competition to a Boxing Live programme where the action had begun 45 minutes previously..

For the men's synchronised 10m Platform, shown live, we had to leave immediately at the end of the competition to show a 50' summary of the Weightlifting Women's under 48kg which was 1h40' long.

For Weightlifting Women 58kg and for Weighlifting Men 69kg the programme was delayed and we only kept the action, as we do for all other delayed programmes whatever the sport or the nationality of the athlete who won a medal.

For the Women's 100m Breaststroke, shown Live on Eurosport, the medal ceremony was at the end of the day's competition, at 20.05 cet, and we had to go as fast as possible to the Weightlifting Men 62kg Live, which had been going on since 19.00, to see the gold medal of SHI Zhiyong. We weren't able to show his medal ceremony live because we had to show the women's diving right after, with a slight delay, where we saw the Chinese athletes win the Gold medal in the synchronised 10m Platform, unfortunately without the ceremony because another diving live was right after.

The only medal ceremonies we are able to show are when it happens in a middle of a Live programme, as in swimming. But it's not often.

We are very receptive to the feedback from our viewers, but on this specific issue, given the Pan-European nature of our channel, which is distributed in 54 countries, and our philosophy of uniting people through sport, it is difficult for us to remain untouched by this type of unfounded accusation.
