Uriginal                                        From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia                                                                                                Jump to: navigation, search
Uriginal is the generic term of pieces of culture (mainly Japanese) that many Korean people believe to be originated in Korea, which is not really the case. The term is a portmanteau word that is a combination of "uri" (a Korean word meaning "our", 우리) and "original".

[edit] Examples of Uriginal

Korea Kumdo Assiciation, which is the biggest kumdo association, claims kendo is originated in Korea[4]. But All Japan Kendo federation officially denies these claims[5][6].
SamuraiSsaul-abi, a Korean motion picture which was created in 2002, claims that the word samurai and the custom of samurai comes from ssaul-abi, meaning "fighting man" in the Korean language[7][8]. But the etymology of samurai is clear (Samurai#Etymology_of_samurai_and_related_words) and these beliefs are not commonly held outside Korea.
