The scale of China's IDC business market is composed of revenue from IDC service providers. Among them, the hosting business accounts for the largest proportion of revenue, exceeding 40%. IDC providers mainly provide two different types of services, namely: wholesale hosting and retail hosting. The global data center business is mainly retail, accounting for about 75%. Figure 4. Telecom operators: operators own business needs data center support, in IDC field has a unique advantage, especially reflected in the capital Money, land and bandwidth resources. And operators rely on their monopoly to gain customers more easily than other data-centre providers. Third-party data center providers: third-party data center providers are specialized in the construction and operation of data centers. Compared with telecom operators with complex and diversified businesses, such companies have the characteristics of low boundary cost, higher degree of specialization, strong extensibility advantages, high flexibility and diversified services in data centers. Global IDC has experienced 30 years of development, and the marketization degree is mature. Operators gradually withdrew from the IDC market. IDC is dominated by third-party. Due to the surge in data volume and the strong downstream demand, Chinese third-party IDC has developed rapidly in recent years. According to data from the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology, 2018 GDS, 21Vianet Group and Bao Sight accounted for 4.1%, 4.0% and 2.0% respectively,the head enterprises expanded rapidly. Among the third-party data center providers in China, the focus of the GDS business is mainly on the wholesale business, while the 21Vianet Group is mainly engaged in the retail data business. Rigital Realty's acquisition of Dupont Fabros Technology in 2017 further consolidated its position as the world's largest wholesale business supplier. The operating cost (OPEX) of Equinix is composed of depreciation and other expenses, maintenance fees, external service fees, electricity fees, labor expenses, and rents, and the various expenses account for 24%, 8%, 23%, 35%, and 10%, respectively. China accounts for only 8%, only 1/5 of the US market, and there is still a huge gap.
