TAMPA, Fla. 鈥?An apartment complex in Tampa was evacuated early Friday morning due to flooding from a water main break, according to fire rescue officials. Evacuations started just after 5 a.m. at Element in Tampa. The 35-floor complex is located at 808 N. Franklin Street. According to fire rescue, the call came in at 3:20 a.m. as a general fire alarm. The break was in two places, on the 27th and 12th floors. Officials say there s no damage above the 27th floor. Several residents took videos of water gushing down the hallway and into the stairwells. They say water was entering their apartments from not just under the doorway but from the ceiling through light sockets and even electrical outlets. Brandon Gelfen got to the stairwell and realized the alarm was not a drill.  Thats when I kind of realized it was a big deal because water was flowing down, people were getting soaked, and it was mayhem. Rice s bail was set at $500,000, the Flathead Beacon reported. One witness reported hearing a splash and seeing a man yelling for help while another witness saw the man disappear under the water, court records said. Rice and two other people who had been on the bridge left in a minivan, witnesses said. The next morning, a man who had been on the bridge told officers that Rice pushed Walthers off the Old Steel Bridge. Heather Joy Meeker, 25, confirmed the other man s story and said Rice was upset because of something Walthers said about her earlier in the day at a church that offers meals to the homeless. Flathead County prosecutors charged her with evidence tampering for reportedly throwing a backpack believed to belong to Walthers out of the van as they left. Her bail was set at $50,000.
