70年代崛起于歌坛的比利-乔（Billy Joel）是当之无愧的流行乐坛超级巨星。成名前曾隐姓埋名在加州一家酒吧驻唱。这首《钢琴师》即是他以亲身见闻为蓝本描绘的酒吧人生：青春不再的老人，胸怀大志但一事无成的小说家，但求安身军旅的年轻人，一心向往明星美梦却不得不在酒吧度日的调酒师，还有为生活周旋于醉翁之意不在酒的生意人之间的女侍……众生百态随处可见。

　　酒吧与咖啡厅一样都是现代生活不可或却的空间。喜欢船过水无痕的都会男女流连于这些小小避风港，嘈杂的人声、酒精的抚慰、贴近的身体都拉近了彼此间的距离，让可能孤单的夜晚有了些许生气。可这似亲非亲、若即若离的关系背后，大家是否“在共饮一杯叫寂寞的酒”？宿醉而归、梦醒夜半，空虚的生活是否只有歌声慰藉？
