The Announcement of the 2019 IEEE GDUT Environmental and Ecological Forum for International Young Scholars
The IEEE GDUT Environmental and Ecological Forum for International Young Scholars (IEEE GDUT Forum) aims to gather outstanding domestic and international young scholars at Guangdong University of Technology for inspiring and exchanging academic thoughts, enhance mutual exchange and cooperative actions.
ACADEMIC TOPICS
The Forum welcomes participants in but not limited to the following fields: water resource, aquatic environment and ecology, pollution control and resource recovery, wetland, estuary and coastal engineering, urban/industrial ecology, environment and health, environmental big data and system analysis.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR APPLICATION
1) Oversea Applicant: should be under 40 years old, holding a PhD degree from a well-known overseas university or research institute, or having a PhD degree from a domestic university or research institute with two-year or more overseas work experience and currently not holding a full-time position in China. Scholars with strong academic ambitions, achievements and potentials are strongly encouraged to apply.
2) Domestic Applicant: should be under 40 years old, leading one of the National Youth Talent Programs or with outstanding academic ambitions, achievements and potentials in environmental related teaching and research fields.
APPLICATION PROCEDURE
1. Please send curriculum vitae with the subject of “IEEE GDUT Forum” to ieee@gdut.edu.cn
2. Deadline is February 28, 2019.
3. An official invitation letter will be sent out before March 5, 2019.
4. The applicants who intended to attend the forum should respond with a confirmation note within a week after receiving the invitation letter.

March 25-26, 2019 Opening ceremony, forum, symposiums and campus tour, etc.
March 27, 2019 Departure
Venue: Guangdong University of Technology (HigherEducation Mega Centre), Guangzhou China
TRAVEL AND ACCOMMODATIOIN
The trip costs for all invitees will be covered by GDUT: 1) transportation costs including an economy-class round-trip air ticket from home institute to IEEE GDUT; 2) accommodation and meal costs in Guangzhou（Accommodation will be arranged by IEEE GDUT in Guangzhou）.
