为什么很多画家认为耶酥的养父，约瑟是个老头呢？

也许这样的艺术手法，才能让没读过圣经的人理解，这位是个父亲。如果画成青壮年，也许会被误解成兄弟？

那马利亚这么年青 “嫁给”这么个老头是不是太不公平？
耶酥被杀的时候 约瑟已经去世 那也不能说人家是一老头啊 好奇怪

似乎很少看到绘画作品上这两个人同时出现，好像一般都是其中一个和耶稣一起。
不同的主题不同的画家，自然看起来不相配了。

真的没有同时出现？最近，关于圣诞的作品看了很多了。大部分都是这两个人出现。约瑟大部分都是老头

不好意思，孤陋寡闻了。约瑟和耶酥单独的画像，我好像从来没有见过。

圣经并没有提及约瑟什么时间去世，关于为什么说公元33年左右，约瑟可能已经去世，马可福音3：33节说耶酥的母亲和弟弟来找耶酥，约瑟没有出现。说明，那个时候（约公元30年左右，耶酥刚开始传道的时候）约瑟已经不在了。
还有也可以看约翰福音19章25-27的记载。
耶酥旁边是母亲还有母亲的妹妹，克罗巴的 妻子马利亚还有末大拉人马利亚。耶酥看见他所爱得门徒就对母亲说：“看，他是你的儿子了！”又对那个门徒说：“看，她是你的母亲了！”从那时起，那个门徒就接她到自己家里住。这时候，约瑟不在场。从小到大，约瑟作为耶酥的养父，教给他上帝的话语，教给他谋生的手艺，所以耶酥灵性上健壮，木匠活做的也很不错。上帝亲自启示他，他不可能不知道耶酥就是弥赛亚。在这个关头，如果他还活着的话，那肯定应该在场的。
耶酥在最后关头依然不忘记让门徒照顾自己老来丧子的母亲，顾念她的衣食所需，也给我们立下孝敬父母的典范。

我以前大多看到的是圣母子没有约瑟的画，的确是没看到过约瑟单独和耶稣一起的。
大致看了一下你给出的画。我有几个想法：其一，很可能一些画家是按照当时某牧师的形象画的（不知道为什么，个人感觉）；其二，很多给约瑟画了大胡子，就算是年轻人，须髯过多怎么看都像老头，不过似乎不应该是白的，也许是愁生计愁的？其三，也许把约瑟画得老成一些，为了可以说明他是德高望重的？
