After having nine children in as many years, you might think Rayna and Malcolm Warriner's brood is complete. & ^+ V# V0 R+ a9 N @$ Z: ]+ C% g $ y8 ]; H5 y7 _6 I# j( VBut, with one seat spare in the family minibus, the couple feel they still have a gap to fill. N, ^0 G Z R4 P& { 2 y6 P& h0 D" f G4 k, z7 tLess than a month after giving birth to their newest addition, Mrs Warriner is already broody for a tenth baby. . t) B6 S3 i) Z8 S- e

"I’m hooked on the adrenaline rush I get from having a beautiful baby and it is a miracle that lasts a lifetime," said the former nursery manager, 32. ! {# A& e" j& ]9 {* g / F c. O! U) B$ Y% ?"We have one more seat to fill in our 12-seater minibus. If my husband said that’s it, we would stop, but we both enjoy having children so much." ~- O/ |7 ^0 J

The couple support their six girls and three boys on the wages Mr Warriner earns as a police sergeant, without the aid of benefits. 6 r; B1 C, V, G/ w" C' n, p; ?& R

Another boy, Callan, arrived in 2003 and was followed by threeyear- old Taitum. , M9 A* y1 Z$ p0 }5 }2 j 9 D. U/ r' c1 ~* mIn March 2005, Rayna had triplet girls Ilish, Romany and Meredith, who are now 23 months. & l6 |( @: K' p& |( ~' b4 K0 Q$ ]

Then on January 27 she gave birth to Avie, weighing 7lb 11oz, at Poole Hospital in Dorset. 2 q' a6 Q V# ]- l2 y( o1 @ G, @3 \9 z: w
She had a difficult labour this time round, and needed a blood transfusion after problems with the placenta. 3 e, v! ~; S+ c! j @1 V; k
! ?0 D) ?: ?" a8 c, Q( h
Mrs Warriner is now considered to be at high risk of complications if she becomes pregnant again. 0 T8 _* H# `& L. A; i7 k5 l( c! N
5 j. D" K4 e& Q+ n* b/ {+ wBut despite the potential problems, and the considerable squeeze on their finances, she says she remains hooked on motherhood. : e8 Z5 Z2 m m. F* P. q + }" L3 r+ ~ E" ^% V: G7 y. Z"We are not planning to have another one at the moment but we’ll have to wait and see what comes. 1 H% {: u- [, B8 H0 X& F6 ]) N: F% o" l

"When we married we said we’d have six, then my husband joked that we’d have eight to wind my mother up, but we’ve gone beyond a joke now." ! Z. \3 ^6 \% A, ~: J# j
# c3 l+ L4 w" v; N1 t) ?8 |Mrs Warriner spends her exhausting 17-hour day ferrying her children to various schools and nurseries, doing four loads of washing, shopping, cooking, cleaning and reading countless bedtime stories. $ e7 c4 X R" z8 H D5 D6 e, I& `, E; k' ~# E" F4 p) i
To accommodate their family, the couple, from Bournemouth, have had an extra-large bath fitted and have extended their six-bedroom detached house. 0 C0 T1 ~9 z! C9 E( {) q) o# k9 ?

They spend £170 a week on their food bill. And as a result of rising bills, they have not been on holiday for three years. ( P, |- B5 \$ i0 Q, ^6 p ! _- |' H& ]7 i; B# p' W7 pThey struggle to organise even a weekend away as hotels and holiday homes are unable to accommodate so many children. ) r% _) b; J0 N+ _0 G1 ?

Mr Warriner, 45, who is applying for promotion to inspector to help support his brood, added: "When we got married ten years ago, Rayna said she’d like four children and I joked that I wanted eight. 5 w- u$ N* v0 G/ B: `$ Z9 @3 z0 a* v9 Q) y
"We agreed to settle for six but it hasn’t worked out that way." ( f; A" r" _' U3 I+ i7 K' E. V* S8 x4 J$ _
He added: "We haven’t had a holiday for years or a night out together. We don’t have a social life but I don’t feel I’m missing out."
